Walmart Beauty Box is a quarterly sampling box. It’s only $5 but I admit that the Winter box wasn’t worth that to me. There tend to be a few versions out there; I’ve seen up to five. I do know that there are different boxes for age categories above 35 and that’s the one I get. For reference, in case you’re still waiting on yours, my email labeled this box as WM Winter C1.
What You Get: Deluxe size products and foil samples with the occasional full size goodie.
Nirvana Spa nspa Coconut Rich Body Butter– This is a 1.7oz jar of body butter. I’m not a big fan of body butter or lotion. I don’t like feeling sticky or greasy and I feel like a large majority of body lotions (especially butters) tend to be that way. It’s also because I’m lazy and I’d rather use the amount of time it would take to slather it on and massage it in to do something else.
Pantene ProV Extra Strong Hold Hairspray– Hairspray is always useful. In my house, my husband uses more of it than I do and he has only an inch of hair at the longest. I buy him Aquanet so he won’t take my good stuff. I think I’ll give this to him. I really love my Oribe hairspray and I’ll do anything to keep him from stealing it.
Pure Silk Raspberry Mist Shave Cream– I have this already from another box. I actually like it so I don’t mind having another one. It smells good and works fine. Which is better than working fine and not smelling good like some of these natural ones I’ve used.
And now we are on the foil samples. At first I thought these were Centrum vitamins but luckily they’re mints. I was going to be a bit miffed if, at the age of 35, Walmart considered me so old that I needed to take Centrum vitamins. The Burt’s Bees Renewal Firming Serum is not awesome but not awful.
This box had so many weird things in it. These two things are for shade matching. One for your hair and one for your skin. While I think these are strange, they are also sort of compelling. The L’Oreal True Match has a bunch of stickers with skin colors on them that you peel off and stick on your skin in order to find the one that matches th ebest. Then you’ll know which foundation to choose. I havent peeled all the stickers off and tried it yet but I will.
All that’s left is a plethora of coupons. Rogaine, Jennifer Aniston perfume, Olay, Covergirl and Roc.
VERDICT: I don’t care if I’m 80 or 20, never send me coupons for Rogaine. Ever. Please? And especially not alongside a coupon for Star Wars makeup. It’s like age schizophrenia or something. And Rogaine is serious business and is not for everyone. Although, neither is Star Wars mascara.
Enough of that, though. This was a basically useless box for me but will it make me unsubscribe?
Probably not. Mainly because it’s only $5 and sometimes these boxes are amazing.
If you would like to sign up for the Walmart Beauty Box, you can do that right here. Keep in mind that sometimes they’re fantastic and other times… not so much. Also, if you sign up now you will get a Winter box. Just don’t mark that you are over 34 and you shouldn’t get this box. Hopefully.
